Any child or youth, who calls, will be connected with a psychologist who dedicates his time to the problem and who will try to find a solution. The main goal of Telefono ANAR is to facilitate the children and adolescents with a safe and confidential space. In this space they should feel like they are listened to and respected so that they are able to comfortably express their issues.

Grupo Cortefiel chose to be part of this project in 2014, to help searching for alternatives for the problems of the children.

Grupo Cortefiel has been collaborating for many years with UNICEF and their projects. This year, Springfield desired to be part of the project “Schools for ASIA in Bangladesh”. The campaign, which is directed towards young children from poor families and ethnic minorities, supports the most alienated, excluded or vulnerable children, especially the girls.

The goal is to improve the access to schools, resulting in better educational quality of the boys and girls. The 20 selected provinces in Bangladesh will be provided with access to the qualified services of education, health, nutrition, water and sanitation.

The Make-A-Wish Spain Illusions has the mission to provoke illusion in the children who endure serious illnesses (hospitalized or in a welfare environment).

They study each case to build a network of social reinforcement for the beneficiaries and their families, in order to create resilience in these children.

This project, supported by Women'Secret, aims to make the illusions real for at least 15 children that suffer a serious sickness in Spain. That way, the children as well as their families experience a life of hope, force and happiness.

The Family Fostering Programme, the Project in which Pedro del Hierro chose to participate, focuses on searching for, preparing and accompanying families willing to host children and youths who lack parental care, whether on a temporary or permanent basis.

All children have the right to live as part of a family and have their most basic development needs met; this is something that can mitigate the consequences any social dysfunction or abuse that they may have experienced.

Cesal is a Spanish NGO dedicated to promoting international cooperation and is currently present in 15 countries in Latin America and Africa, managing education, health, living, water and hygiene projects with the aim of promoting human development for the most disadvantaged people in the world.

With Springfield’s support, they have developed a comprehensive care programme for those affected by HIV/AIDS in the slum towns of Kireka and Naguru in Kampala. The programme is based on working directly with people from the poorest districts in Kampala and carries out an important role in the prevention of HIV/AIDS, in the care of the sick and their family, in the psychosocial support given to orphans and widows and in the educational and school support to children and youth.

Create sustainable development on the island of Ibo

The IBO Foundation is an international cooperation initiative which aims to promote the economic and social development of the Mozambican island of Ibo.

The “ONE SMILE FOR IBO” campaign, in which Springfield has participated, is trying to reinvigorate the fashion for the iconic 80s smiley faces, recycling them in a positive and optimistic way and adding an ethnic and artisan touch to communicate the spirit of the island. The ‘smileys’ are made using recycled paper and engraved to give them an original and high quality feel.

The main objective of the “Nutritional Support Centre on the Island of Ibo” project is good nutrition for the island’s population, above all for children under 5 years old and pregnant women or women of child-bearing age.

The IBO Foundation is trying to create sustainable development on the island of Ibo. And this long-term objective, which must respect the social, cultural and environmental reality of the region, determines its entire strategy.

Rescate Internacional is a Spanish organisation which works on behalf of refugees and the displaced, focussing in particular on the most vulnerable of these - women and children.

They initiated a project to provide ‘Comprehensive training to build a future for displaced women and children in Kinshasa (DR Congo)’. The project’s funding enabled ‘Rescate Internacional’ to maintain a centre of education for the young women who, as heads of the family or widows, have survived the DR Congo’s long-standing war, and find themselves displaced in the capital, Kinshasa.

“Volunteering for All” is a novel and ground-breaking project. Traditionally people with intellectual disabilities have been recipients of volunteer action; however their increasingly active role in society has led us to reconsider this role and to regard creative formulas that enable this group to contribute on numerous solidarity activities with their effort, motivation, abilities and values. Many adults with intellectual disabilities had offered their time and all their abilities to collaborate with other groups on volunteer actions.

International program “violence is no secret”

Amnesty International and Women’Secret began this campaign – as part of the international program – with the slogan: “gender-based violence cannot be a secret”, creating special spaces in the Women’Secret shops and decorating shop windows with messages denouncing gender-based violence. In its endeavour to fight gender-based violence, on this occasion Women’Secret launched a collection of activist messages to help say NO to gender-based violence. It is one of the boldest campaigns undertaken by Women’Secret, not just because of its claims but also because of the means of communicating and conveying the message to society.

The project includes personalized therapeutic monitoring and accompaniment for female victims of gender-based violence with workshops and natural techniques, as a complement to the services of women’s shelters.

Since 2010 until today, Grupo Cortefiel has maintained close collaboration with this shelter for homeless or at risk of exclusion so they can have everything needed to get dressed.

The St. John of God Shelter is a social Care Center free of charge, with management by the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, Religious Province of Castilla.
